About Me

My Story

My journey in the trades began as a teenager. Even throughout a 24-year career in the pharmaceutical software industry, I never truly put my tools down. I spent my weekends on the island taking on specialized projects, keeping my skills sharp in the coastal environment I love.

While the corporate world provided a living, I eventually realized it couldn't provide a true sense of accomplishment. For years, I worked from home, spending my days on the phone and behind a screen. My children knew I was working hard, but they couldn't actually see what I was doing. There was no finished product to show them—and in my opinion, nothing to be truly proud of. That bothered me. I reached a point where I wanted to end my day knowing I had worked with my hands and could see the tangible results of my labor—something my kids could see and be proud of, too.

I also wanted to change how I built relationships. In the corporate world, authentic connections can be rare. With this venture, I am doing things differently. Brine Defense & Repair Works is built on local roots and real handshakes. I'm not just looking for the next contract; I'm looking to build lasting relationships with my neighbors.

Growing up in SE Pennsylvania, the Jersey shore was a magical place where our families vacationed in the summer. To finally live here on Barnegat Bay and serve the island community is that dream come true. My expertise is built on over 25 years of hands-on experience across a multitude of fields. Because I have a background in various phases of construction, I have a unique "under the hood" perspective. I understand the structural elements behind your walls and under your decks, allowing me to provide a level of preparation and repair that ensures a flawless, long-lasting finish—whether it's interior painting or exterior restoration.

I believe a job is only as good as the details you don't see. My approach is defined by meticulous attention to detail, uncompromising cleanliness, and a refusal to take shortcuts. When I'm not on a ladder, I'm a passionate (if average!) fisherman; you'll find me out on the local bays or out front on the reef. I'm also a coach for my kids' sports teams. I'm proud to be your neighbor and your contractor, bringing a professional's eye and a local's heart to every project in Southern Ocean County.

Thermostat Prep: I'll cool the house down before you arrive and turn it back up when you leave to keep things efficient.
HD Video Report: You get a quick text and an HD video of the property after every visit so you can see for yourself that all is well.

Introductory Rate

Everything in Lite, plus:

Premium Shrink Wrapping: Professional-grade shrink wrapping for outdoor furniture and kitchens, creating a drum-tight seal against winter salt, ice, and wind.
Seasonal Salt-Rinses: High-volume freshwater washes twice a year to stop salt from eating your paint, siding, and hardware.
Pool Deck & Furniture Care: Light pressure washing for pool decks and outdoor furniture to keep your lounge areas clean and salt-free.
Storm Response: Immediate on-dock inspections for damage the second it's safe to cross the bridge after a major event.

Contractor Liaison: I arrange and oversee local specialists for HVAC, plumbing, roofing, and other services outside my scope. I make sure the right people show up and the job gets done.
Hardware Defense: Rinsing AC condensers and lubricating every slider, lock, and hinge to fight off corrosion.
Weekly Audits: On-site every single week checking everything from security points to light bulbs.
Maintenance & Repair: Covers general home repairs to keep the property tight. For larger projects, I believe in an honest discussion on scope, with deep discounts applied for Guardian members.

I don't just "check" on your house; I perform a deep-dive inspection of your home's exterior and interior systems to ensure everything is exactly as it should be.

Perimeter & Structural Checks

I conduct visual inspections of the roof (from the ground), siding, and deck for wind-lifted shingles, loose panels, or salt-corroded railings.

Storm Prep & Mitigation

Ahead of forecasted weather, I secure or tether outdoor furniture, grills, and loose items. I ensure all windows and sliders are fully locked and the property is "battened down."

Security & Presence

I clear mail, newspapers, and parcels from porches so the home never looks unoccupied — a key deterrent for intruders.

Interior Vital Checks

I monitor for signs of water intrusion, frozen pipes, or moisture levels. I check HVAC settings, water heaters for leaks, and electrical panels for tripped breakers.

Utility & Appliance Management

I flush toilets and run faucets to prevent stagnant water, check refrigerators/freezers for proper operation, and confirm that sump pumps are functional.
